Communication Unit was established in 2015 as an effort to promote, improve and monitor ICTJA-CSIC image.
The Communication Unit is responsible for managing the institutional website and social media sites, creating multimedia content like video or photography. The Unit facilitates the flow of information about institutional and research activities internally and externally via several channels, which includes our newsletter and other means, including outreach to journalists worldwide via our press releases. Communication Unit works closely with members of the Institute to place stories in print and electronic media managing a wide media contacts database, responds to media information requests, and helps reporters find ICTJA-CSIC sources for expert commentary, arranging media interviews.
The Communications Office manages the ICTJA-CSIC institutional Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn channels an dit also is responsible for posting content to institutional social media channels. The Communications Unit produces on institutional publications such as the ICTJA-CSIC Annual Report and promotional materials for its researchers and projects. Communication Unit coordinates some of the outreach and dissemination activities carried out by our researchers in the frame of several outreach events like Science Week or ESCOLAB. One of the goals of the Communications Unit is to help to increase the understanding of the value of geosciences and their benefit to society and general public to build bridges between science and society.
