Structure and Dynamics of the Earth

 

The multidisciplinary research investigates the structure and dynamic processes of the Earth’s interior. The main objective is to understand how the Earth works at different scales through the integration of a wide range of different datasets and methodologies, including Geophysics and Geology, Numerical Modeling, Geodesy, and Geochemistry.

 

The acquisition of high resolution seismic, potential field data and surface geology is combined with numerical models to achieve an integrate approach to basic and applied research in Earth Sciences. Related projects to industry include applications for hydrocarbon exploration, waste disposal and geological storage of greenhouse gas emissions (CO2).
