Educational Background

  • Ph.D., 1998, Geology, Universitat de Barcelona
  • B.Sc., 1992, Geology, Universitat de Barcelona

Research Interests

  • Reconstruction of paleoclimate changes and anthropogenic impacts using highresolution multiproxy study of lacustrine sediments.
  • Reconstruction of highfrequency climate phenomena, such as the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO).
  • Statistical methods for isolating and characterizing paleoenvironmental signals (climate signals vs. tectonic, volcanic and/or anthropogenic signals).
  • Late Glacial and Holocene paleoenvironmental evolution of the Iberian Peninsula.
  • Sedimentary processes in lacustrine environments.
  • Uraniumseries disequilibrium (234U/230Th) dating method.
